Hellfest 2023 / Def Leppard

The Sheffield boys are back onstage at a festival, fresh from playing a very intimate gig in their local town, but they click right back into place and deliver a dream setlist including “Animal” “Hysteria” and “Love Bites” that the crowd of Hellfest appreciate to the full. This is singalong time and the French love this, Joe Elliot commands the crowd with gusto, suck a treat to see a pro deliver the goods. The guitars are a little muddy in the mix in the early parts but they manage to sort it out and send those notes into the air free of muffled mixing. You have to admire a band that has been going for such a long time and that they still produce new material, more recent tracks from their latest albums are played and the crowd listens, great stuff. This reviewer has seen the Lepps a few times and today like always, they deliver a set well worthy of a headline billing. They still got it!!
