BST 2023 / The Darkness

The Darkness is a proper British Rock band, they are brilliant at what they do and the fact that they don’t take themselves very seriously gives them an aura of admiration and respect. Today they are second on the bill and to be fair they deliver on that slot but surely they should have been main support instead. They kick off in style with Growing on Me from their 2003 debut album Permission to Land, with only 45 mins to play with they deliver a short set including fan favourites like Love is Only a Feeling, Get Your Hand of My Woman and even a little taste of Christmas Time, delivered with humour and a lot of heart. And this is what this band has tons of, heart, love and classic riffs. The obvious closing song is a I Believe in a Thing Called Love, and yes we love them too. Most excellent sirs …
