Southern music veterans The Outlaws have long been considered a byword for authentic guitar rock from south of the Mason Dixie line. Their triple-guitar attack and three-part harmonies blur the boundaries whilst retaining the core integrity of this cherished genre.

As expected from this road-hardened band, Dixie Highway’s opening anthem Southern Rock Will Never Die rolls out a formidable cargo of songs on this loud and proud release.

The ghostly ballad trip on Dark Horse Run proves it’s not all long hair blowing free guitar-heavy tunes. Nevertheless, Endless Ride, Rattlesnake Road and Macon Memories’ six-string shoot out keep this Southern Rock gang’s flag proudly flying.
