It seems that Christmas has come early with the release of this comprehensive compilation of Slade’s big hits and most cherished songs.

This Midland band’s longevity and success are reflected in the chart triumphs they achieved from early in their career. Cum On Feel The Noize pulled the ripcord as the band vaulted up both the album and singles Top 40 on a regular basis right up to Noddy Holder bringing the glittery curtain down on Slade’s original line up when he left the band

The time warp charm of this double Greatest Hits collection runs swiftly through the Glam-Rock years of TOTP hitz when Slade sported gaudy costumes and glitter faced makeup.

There’s also a crucial slew of songs included from the late 70s and 80s when the band returned as a more serious but still fun rock act which might still surprise some new to the contents of this well-balanced collection.

Like a lost formula and ancient amber, these glittery part panto like songs and are caught in aspic just like Noddy Holder’s hair.

If you truly wish it could be Christmas every day, then this early stocking filler is so much more than that on this classy chronicle of a band whose legend continues.
