Former Nazareth frontman Dan McCafferty is dead at age 76

Nazareth bass player and founder member Pete Agnew broke the news that his friend and former bandmate Dan McCafferty has died, aged 76

News of the Scottish born singer's passing was shared on Facebook by his friend and former band mate Pete Agnew, now the only original Nazareth member still in the band.

‘Dan died at 12:40 today’ Agnew posted on the bands Facebook page. ‘This is the saddest announcement I ever had to make. Maryann and the family have lost a wonderful loving husband and father, I have lost my best friend, and the world has lost one of the greatest singers who ever lived.
Too upset to say anything more at this time.’
