Frank Turner has announced he will be performing a live-streamed gig at London’s historic Troubadour on Thursday 3rd December to raise money for the 30 Grassroots Music Venues who are now on the Red List and may be lost forever. Proceeds from the show, promoted by FIGHTBACK Lager in aid of Music Venue Trust’s Red List Campaign, will be distributed across these venues that are in imminent danger of being lost to the Covid-19 crisis.https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/save-our-venues-red-list. The show will be streamed live and made available on demand for 24 hours.

To replicate the most authentic grassroots venue gig experience, you can purchase special promotional packs of Fightback Lager (or cider, IPA and Berries) which come inclusive of a ticket to the stream!

Frank Turner said:“I’ve played many of the venues on the Music Venue Trust Red List and can’t stand by while they’re under threat. It’s hard to imagine the risk to underground music and culture if we lose the stages where artists find their voice, develop and grow. I hope performing at The Troubadour on day one of live audiences returning to gigs can capture some of the power of seeing a grassroots music venue performance and highlight what’s in danger of being lost.”

Fightback Lager Director and Event Promoter, Gary Prosser said:“When we created our beer a couple of years ago, too many Grassroots Music Venues were already battling for survival. Covid-19 has dragged us all into a fight for the future of live music in the UK. Music Venue Trust has proven themselves to be game-changers and we will always donate to them from every pint and bottle sold. Knowing 30 crucial venues are still at serious risk, we approached Frank about working together to help. He said yes immediately. We hope this show will remind everyone of the kind of live music experience we're all desperate to return to. With glimmers of light at the end of the tunnel, FIghtback Lager will be at the front, supporting the return of live music into grassroots venues.”

Music Venue Trust CEO, Mark Davyd said:“The venues on The Red List play a crucial role in the development of British music, nurturing local talent, providing a platform for artists to build their careers and develop their music and their performance skills. These venues also play a vital role in the cultural and economic vibrancy of our villages, towns and cities. The power of the live music community that loves and cares about these venues, can make a huge difference. We welcome Frank and Fightback Lager’s contribution to the campaign.”

Ian Williamson at The Troubadour said:“For over 65 years, The Troubadour has been through it all, while standing its ground as a dedicated grassroots venue, offering a stage to outstanding new talent, whatever the flavour. However, this is, without doubt, the toughest storm it's faced, and without the superhuman effort and support of the Music Venue Trust, we probably wouldn't even be having this conversation! We are incredibly excited to welcome Frank and his fans into our humble abode and make music live again!”
