Former Saxon manager artist David Poxon headlines festival of Watercolour Painting

Using skills he honed in his years working with the likes The Clash, AC/DC, Prince, Gary Numan on stage production, David Poxon is bringing artists from all over the world to headline at a festival of Watercolour Painting. Before he took up watercolours himself, David was a Band Manager for the seminal heavy metal band, Saxon, cited as a major influence on Mötley CrüeMetallica and Megadeth among others.

His live production skills were much in demand: “Glastonbury was one of my clients early on. Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, Marillion, AC/DC, Gary Numan, Monsters of Rock Festivals, Prince, UB40… all the biggies of the 80s and 90s.

Since swapping guitars and microphones for paintbrushes, David has won many awards and accolades for the precision and craftsmanship of his paintings. He’s an elected member of the prestigious RI (Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours) and the NWS (National Watercolour Society of America) and the author of two books on drawing techniques and has contributed many articles to Art magazines and appeared in numerous art books worldwide.
