Hellfest 2023 / Iron Maiden

They came, they saw, they conquered. An overused sentence but when is 100% truth there’s no point in looking for an alternative. They did just that last night with an epic set in front of the Hellfest crowd. They are the masters of classic heavy metal, and Bruce Dickinson commands the crow without a single word, the fact that they produce flawless renditions of classics and well loved tracks makes it even more awe inspiring. From the opening chords of “Caught Somewhere in Time” to the closing track “Wasted Years” we were treated to a masterclass of festival hard rock, all night we were serenaded by triple guitar solos, thundering bass and tribal drumming. The notes of classic songs and deep cuts helped refresh the night compared to recent tours. Everybody loved this, I cannot stress more the fact that the crowd was enchanted by Bruce’s spell. It was magical.
