Being the theatre where Peter Pan was first premiered, Roseanne Reid took to the stage to perform a set of sharply observed nuanced songs. With the audience immediately taking to her, she continued her fairytale as a maturing songwriter with early set song Sweet Annie particularly standing out. Layering her set with tunes from her Teddy Thompson produced debut album Trails, there were also songs culled from a couple of EPs: Couldn’t Wish More For You from her September Tapes EP and the titular Horticulture from the self-same EP. Her slightly cracked voice adds character to her affirmations of the heart and with an appreciate audience encouraging her on every number, Reid delivered an engaging short set showcasing her confident songwriting abilities. Based on tonight’s cameo, she has ample talent to proclaim about in her own right as she finished by dedicating I Love Her So to her wife.
