President Street - The Bedford, Balham, London

If you like your music to be spirited and breezy with a dash of electro-pop, this lot will be right up your street.

President Street is the gnarly part of Perth where band-founder Pete Moses grew-up before relocating to the more artistically nurturing environment of Melbourne. It's here that he found a kindred spirit and soulful voice of Ruby, whose musical DNA was coded at the same High School as the sisters Minogue.

Their frequent forays to these shores have built an enviable reputation with two top 5 hits in the UK dance charts, regular airplay on the UK college radio circuit and two headline UK tours of their own. Coinciding with the release of a new four-track EP, they're set to embark on a European tour supporting Roachford.

Tonight's gig mixed old and new, with the haunting and heartfelt 'Yeah I know' from their debut 2015 release, the aching and wistful 'Something to believe' and the assertive pumping 'Heartbreak Player' from the new EP, plus the impressive unreleased power ballad 'Borrowed time'.

The band's recorded sound features lush synths, strident beats and full dance pop production values. On the current tour the core duo are complemented by guest guitarist, Joseph Ross. As such, the stripped-back sound of their live set lacks the depth that a full rhythm section could convey. However, the underlying quality of the songs, Dave's multitasking and Ruby's soaring voice and sparkling stage presence deliver a compelling performance that is sure to impress the larger crowds that are sure give them are hearty g'day on the Roachford tour or the preceding warm-up dates around the UK.
