Reformed, in a manner of speaking, this Jerry Shirley presented top-class slice of Humble Pie is finally let loose on YouTube with an explosive rendition of the Steve Marriott penned Humble Pie classic 30 Days In The Hole - originally recorded by the second generation Humble Pie line-up on their Smokin’ album. Topically and temporarily COVID nicknamed 90 Days In The Hole, this is undeniably a smokin' hot performance that faithfully captures the sound of the original and then some on this swaggering, sparky, and revved-up live isolation video.

The powerful and poignant introduction by original Pie drummer Jerry Shirley rightly bestows the virtues of each member of this current group incarnation. Organised by a de-facto leader who has previously recorded with the band, Dave ‘Bucket’ Colwell let’s rip with silkily played rough and rowdy riffs on his Epiphone guitar as former Cactus singer Jimmy Kunes channels an impressive lungful homage to Marriott with his loud and throaty delivery exuding pure class.

Having already toured the States with a setlist concentrating on the seminal Performance: Rockin’ The Fillmore live waxing and rarely played songs from the Humble Pie, Rock On and Smokin’ albums, this settled and incendiary live line-up was due to play a special live event in the U.K., unfortunately nixed by the Coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, the pandemonium already invoked by watching this isolation video is a small taster of what a British audience will witness when Humble Pie finally gets the chance to deliver the goods to a live U.K. audience.
