Thursday evening at the Boston Music Room, an intimate space that’s about to showcase one of the biggest up and coming acts in the rock/blues world: Jared James Nichols.

Opening this evening’s bill is an amazingly retro London based band called, Vambo. They took the place by storm and warmed up the evening with a bit of classic rock all with a modern twist. Addictive songs like there most recent release ‘Why, Why, Why’ and big crowd pleaser 'We're Not The Same', these huge Deep Purple fans made a few more fans of their own tonight.  Great start!

The audience revived and hyped for the act to come meant there was not a silent person in the crowd.

Not long of a wait before the intro music ...

Then on comes the man himself. Long blonde curls, leather waist coat and his band looking just as fitting in their rock ‘n’ roll personas. Jared’s high-energy filled the room as he dropped himself down to the enthused crowd to give his fans a personal experience.

The brand new single ‘Nails In The Coffin’ and hit single ‘Honey Forgive Me’ are simply electrifying! Jared is well known for playing his signature single-pickup Les Paul Custom, with a single P90 pickup, and playing pick-less. That’s right, no plectrum, just his fingers. He extracts dynamics out of thin air, what a player, what  technique, so very unique in this day and age. It all makes it all the more special.

It was a hugely breath-taking set leaving everyone wanting more.

I’m looking forward to seeing him on bigger stages, very soon.
